Luxury Hotel Invites Guests to Get Naughty with ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ Package

An Edinburgh hotel is introducing a Fifty Shades of Grey package to coincide with the 2015 movie launch.

Faithful readers of EL James’ book Fifty Shades of Grey can now experience the intrigue of the novel series with a specialized weekend package at the Nira Caledonia in Edinburgh. The 50 Plaids of Wa-Hay package begins at £995 (about $1,564) and brings many of the pleasures of the book into guests’ hotel rooms.

The deal is good for a two-night stay in a Jacuzzi suite. Upon arrival, guests receive a welcome glass of champagne, which they can enjoy while diving into the contents of the racy little black box that comes with the reservation. Inside the box? A feather tickler, fluffy handcuffs, and strawberries dipped in chocolate or homemade truffles. But it doesn’t end there. In addition to the massage oil awaiting guests in their room, a sensual couples massage with aromatherapy is offered in the suite. A tasting menu created with the guests’ input will be specially crafted with aphrodisiac ingredients and served either in the suite or in the hotel’s Blackwood’s Bar and Grill. A private mobile phone will give guests 24/7 access to a personal butler. And if all that’s not extravagant enough, guests with an extra £2,000 (approximately $3,148) can indulge in a bubbly bath — not just bubbles, but an entire champagne bath.

The final perk of the package is perhaps the least risqué, but delicious all the same: The reservation includes a full Scottish breakfast for each morning of the stay.
