Los Angeles to Beijing for Under $2,000 in Business Class
There’s a great premium fare deal floating around, especially for Alaska Airlines flyers: Hainan Airlines flights from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to Beijing International Airport (PEK) for under $2,000 roundtrip.
Los Angeles to Beijing: The Premium Fare Deal
With plenty of availability throughout March, flyers can book a flight in their business class section for as little as $1,889 per person. According to Google, the flight price is considerably low, as the lowest average hovers around $2,050 per person.
Both flights include a segment aboard Hainan’s Boeing 787 Dreamliner: outbound between Los Angeles to Chongqing, and the returning from Chengdu to Los Angeles. Three legs of this flight are on Hainan Airlines’ upgraded 787-9 Dreamliner. The final leg, from China to LAX is on the older 787-8.
The business class cabin itself features massaging lie-flat seats, generous in-flight entertainment options, and Bvlgari amenity kits with Bose noise-canceling headphones at every seat.

The Points Earnings
Because this is a business class flight, flyers may be wondering how many points they can earn for the experience. When we ran it through the calculator, the four-flight itinerary could potentially earn as much as 20,859 Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan miles.
Those flyers who want to credit to other Hainan Airlines partners can also choose Etihad Guest or Virgin Australia Velocity. As with all premium fare deals, your actual mileage earnings may vary.

The also have Shanghai for $1610 on a few days. Dirt cheap!
This is not a great deal if you factor in the extra travel time and inconvenience of overflying Beijing by 1500 miles then taking a domestic flight to get to Beijing after a long layover. Only good for serious mileage runners, not for businesspeople or tourists.
