Lookout, World! The ‘Serial Stowaway’ Is Back & She’s Moved on to Blindsiding Hotels

Known as the “Serial Stowaway,” Marilyn Hartman has once again been arrested after flying without a ticket.

It looks like the “Serial Stowaway” has struck again, this time hopping a Delta Air Lines flight from Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) to Jacksonville International Airport (JAX) without a ticket. The Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports Marilyn Hartman, 63, is in custody again after making claims she flew to Florida without a boarding pass on Sunday.

Hartman reportedly claims that she was able to successfully get past both the Transportation Security Administration checkpoint and airline gate agents at MSP to JAX without a ticket, successfully. Once she arrived in Jacksonville, the “Serial Stowaway” took a hotel shuttle to the Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort.

At the resort, Hartman was able to check into an existing reservation under somebody else’s name. The stowaway was only identified after the real guest tried to check in later that day. Hartman was discovered on the property the following day in a room that was closed for renovation, where she was then arrested by the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office.

If Hartman’s claims are true, this would mark the second known time she has successfully hitched a ride on an aircraft without a ticket. AP reports Hartman was arrested in August 2014 for boarding a flight from San Jose to Los Angeles without a ticket. Monday’s arrest marks the fifth for Hartman for attempting to sneak onto airplanes.

As of time of reporting, Hartman remains in Nassau County Jail on charges of identity fraud, defrauding an innkeeper and criminal trespassing. Hartman is being held in lieu of $50,000 bond. Delta, which operates regular service between MSP and JAX, and the TSA told the Star-Tribune they are investigating Hartman’s claims.
