LHR Ranks British Airways’ Short-Haul Fleet As “Quietest”

A new report released by Heathrow Airport (LHR) has named British Airways’ short-haul fleet as the quietest aircraft flying into and out of the area. Heathrow has attempted to incentivize airlines’ use of quieter aircraft, and the airport’s Fly Quiet league shows that the use of low-noise Airbus A350 flights have doubled and Boeing 787 Dreamliner flights have risen by 19 percent since the incentivization program began.

“The Fly Quiet programme helps airlines improve their noise performance and provides incentives for them to fly their newest, quietest aircraft to Heathrow, helping the airport be a better neighbor,” said, John Holland-Kaye, Heathrow’s Chief Executive.
