Heathrow Airport (LHR) has launched a security investigation after an unencrypted USB drive containing sensitive security information was reportedly found lying on the ground on Ilbert Street in West London. The device allegedly contained information such as protocol for protecting English royalty at the airport and information regarding CCTV and tunnel systems connected to Heathrow Express.

“We have reviewed all of our security plans and are confident that Heathrow remains secure […] We have also launched an internal investigation to understand how this happened and are taking steps to prevent a similar occurrence in future,” said a Heathrow spokesperson.
