Kiss the World’s Shortest International Flight Goodbye

The world’s shortest international flight, which has traveled from Switzerland to Germany since November 2016 and clocks in at approximately eight minutes in length, will cease operation, according to the Austrian People’s Air Group. The carrier acknowledged that the flight had become too expensive to operate and had not yielded the number of passengers expected for the novelty flight.

“There was indeed small, recognizable progress, but we don’t think that the targeted number of passengers could have been reached,” said Markus Kopf, owner of the carrier.
