Plane Damaged By Rogue Van

A JetBlue airliner was damaged on the tarmac at Boston Logan International Airport Friday morning when an unattended fuel van careened into the aircraft. The wing was damaged, forcing passengers of Flight 891 to relocate to a different plane to Dallas. The cause of the crash appears to be that the driver of the fuel van forgot to put the vehicle in park, and although the driver chased the unattended van, he fell and was unable to catch up with it.

JetBlue spokesman Philip Stewart said in a statement: “Shortly before 6 a.m. a ground operations vehicle came into contact with the aircraft operating JetBlue flight #891 at Logan International Airport while it was parked at the gate. The aircraft is being inspected for damage, and customers on the flight from Boston to Tampa were accommodated on a different aircraft.”

No injuries were reported.
