JetBlue Makes It Easier For Big Families to Fund Flights Together

JetBlue TrueBlue is one of those loyalty programs that lets family members pool points into a single account, and the option is about to get even better.

JetBlue Improves Family Pooling Feature

At the moment, a family of two adults and up to five children can contribute a set percentage of points into their Family Pooling account. JetBlue is changing the name to Points Pooling and will allow two to seven members, regardless of age, to combine points, and they don’t have to be a part of the same household.

Additionally, instead of sharing a percentage of TrueBlue points (chosen once per year), members will be able to commit 100 percent of their points to the Points Pooling account. It’ll still be possible to leave the pool with individual points intact if you choose to do so.

Members will designate a pool leader, previously known as the head of household, who will be able to manage the account and give other members the authority to redeem points from the community pool. The pool leader must be at least 21 years old.

Overall, this is a great update to the Family Pooling program. It will be easier to pool points into a single account without being limited to just two adults, which will make free flights more accessible for many more members. If you think about it, anybody can combine their TrueBlue points: adult siblings, co-workers and even sorority brothers/sisters. Simply designate your pool leader and travel together to JetBlue’s more than 100 destinations!

TrueBlue Badges to Go

JetBlue is temporarily doing away with badges that award bonus TrueBlue points for completing certain travel tasks, such as linking your social media accounts, taking a JetBlue flight during your birthday month or traveling to every single JetBlue destination (Has anyone completed that one?).

But don’t fret. The feature will return, and so will all your badges along with the program’s new look in a few months.

What do you think of the new Points Pooling feature of JetBlue TrueBlue?
