JetBlue Expands Service in the Western U.S.

JetBlue Airways is expanding its West Coast coverage by adding three airports to the list of destinations: Bozeman, Mont.; Ontario, Calif.; and Steamboat Springs, Colo.

The carrier’s daily service to Ontario will begin Sept. 5 with JetBlue being the only airline to provide nonstop service to the California hub from New York City’s John F. Kennedy Airport. Although Ontario has been on the list of JetBlue’s destinations in the past, it’s been 10 years since the service was stopped.

“We continue to focus on leveraging the popularity of our transcon service, which is producing excellent results for our business,” said Marty St. George, JetBlue’s executive vice president of commercial and planning in a press release. “As we advance our West Coast strategy, we are bringing more flying options that our customers want and are growing our brand in hot new destinations that are thrilled to have JetBlue as a new option for travel.”

Seasonal service to Steamboat Springs will begin Dec. 15 with several flights from three cities. JetBlue will provide nonstop service from Boston Logan International Airport, Fort Lauderdale–Hollywood International Airport and Long Beach Airport in southern California.

As for Montana, JetBlue will start flying seasonally to Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport from its Long Beach hub on Dec. 13.

In addition to these new destinations, JetBlue is expanding in the western United States further by adding more service to the Salt Lake City, Long Beach and Burbank, Calif., airports.

“Revising our schedule allows us to offer customers new destinations, capitalize on our leadership position in transcontinental flying and advance our margin commitments in Long Beach where certain flying constraints have created challenges,” St. George said in a press release.

*...it should be easy for Anya to fix if she decides to do so.

mvoight, while I understand what Anya meant, zephyr17 is correct. Flights from the West Coast to Montana or Colorado do not make the states "West Coast." They are simply "West" states. In any case, the mistake is somewhat trivial; however, it should be easy for Anya if she decides to do so.

Whoever wrote this is geographically challenged. Bozeman, MT and Steamboat Springs, CO on the West Coast?????? How's that? Bozeman is a good 700 miles from the Pacific, and Steamboat Springs is 1000 miles from it. "West" and "West Coast" are not interchangeable terms.
