Hawaiian Airlines has revealed passengers’ top five preferences for in-flight films on its North American routes

Just in time for awards season, Hawaiian Airlines has revealed the five most-watched films by passengers on its North American routes. Starting at the top, the most popular in-flight films are:

1) “The Other Woman”

2) “Lone Survivor”

3) “Ride Along”

4) “The Lego Movie”

5) “22 Jump Street”

Of course, these films certainly aren’t to everyone’s taste. Thankfully, Hawaiian’s fleet of Airbus A330 aircraft are equipped with state-of-the-art entertainment systems packed with titles, and passengers on Hawaiian’s Boeing 767 aircraft even have the option of renting a tablet for an enhanced range of programing.

New releases for this year — available for $7.99 per title with the carrier’s Movies On Demand package — include “Frozen,” “Boyhood,” “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes,” “Maleficent” and more

Passengers can also choose Hawaiian’s Unlimited TV & More Pack, which allows unlimited viewing of classic films and current TV shows for $6.99.

The study also took into account film choices across the wider Hawaiian network, including the carrier’s international routes. The top choices here feature several blockbuster titles, including:

1) “Maleficent”

2) “The Amazing Spider-Man 2”

3) “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes”

4) “The Grand Budapest Hotel”

5) “Gravity”

6) “Neighbors”

Explaining the overall results of the survey, an airline representative said, “When it comes to watching movies in-flight, travelers’ choice in movies are clear — comedy wins, dominating four of the five top spots for most-watched movies on North American flights.”

Could it be that the high price tag (2x Amazon rental at 1/4 of the quality for a single spectator) focuses the choice to desperate parents who ran out of options to tame an unruly child? As an intl. flyer only, I did not realise that movies were priced this high.
