Can This Gadget Really Help Make Up for Missing IFEs?

There are times when we may find ourselves sacrificing comfort and entertainment for an affordable flight. Budget flights are great for that: few frills and even less comfort, but the adage rings true that you get what you pay for.

Whether you’re on a short-haul or long-haul flight, don’t expect your budget flight to come equipped with seatback screens. If you find yourself in that predicament, we may have possibly found a product for you to take in-flight.

This is a screen magnifier that, essentially, magnifies your phone screen. It’s compact and portable to take it with you on your travels or anywhere else you use your phone to stream content! We found some here and here, both under USD $20. It may not be the perfect product, but it’s better than staring at a small screen. So even if you test it out, and decide it’s not for you, you’re not putting a dent on your wallet.

Have you tried this budget-friendly product? What are your thoughts?

It's just a Fresnel lens (concentric circles etched onto something transparent) - anyone who has used one will tell you they aren't high quality and cause some distortion of the picture. Not a great solution...
