Investigation Still Underway in 1985 Eastern Airlines Crash

The remains black box from an Eastern Airlines flight that crashed in 1985 is en route to a laboratory in Washington, D.C. for further investigation, according to the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB). The remnants were discovered in May 2016 by two Americans who were climbing Bolivia’s Mt. Illimani. Per the NTSB, the examination of the tapes will take several weeks.

Interesting story. I'm amazed at the condition of the parts in the pictures. It doesn't look like some of the stuff even aged. FWIW DLM
