Inside Edition Investigates Hotels Charging High Rates for Super Bowl — With Disgusting Results

Some pretty nasty things are popping up in hotels with high rates for the Super Bowl.

Hotels in Santa Clara, California, the location of Super Bowl 50, are charging up to $1,000 a night for a room. Which wouldn’t be so bad — maybe — if the rooms were a luxury experience. Sadly, they’re anything but.

Inside Edition recently did an investigation into the hotel rooms to see if the digs match the price tag. What they found was appalling.

At a Super 8 motel charging $1,000 a night, Inside Edition reporter Lisa Guerrero found hair on the blankets, stains in the bedside table drawers, a can of nitrous oxide and dead bugs in the bathroom. The manager didn’t do much to recover Guerrero’s good graces, saying only that the blankets are normally washed after a customer checks out and giving no comment on the rest of the issues.

Dead bugs appeared again at the Bella Vista Inn, which is charging $350 a night, but they brought friends: ants crawling all over the room and in the sheets. The ceiling in the closet was leaking, leaving a pool of water on the shelf.

But Guerrero was most horrified by the dangers she found in The Heritage Inn, which is charging $600 per night. Aside from used Q-tips, toenail clippings and stains scattered around the room, there was a large shard of glass hiding under the headboard and a syringe behind a piece of furniture. The hotel manager blamed the issues on current remodeling of the hotel.

I fully agree with EmptyKim and AAJetMan. Waste of a read.
