Inmarsat Shares Jump With Announcement of BA Partnership

Satellite firm Inmarsat’s market shares rose six percent this morning following the announcement of a partnership with British Airways for the deployment of high-speed in-flight internet to passengers. Inmarsat has hopes that this partnership with the British carrier could precipitate further collaboration with other airlines.

“The rollout of our European Aviation Network, which we are building together with our partner Deutsche Telekom, is progressing at full pace and today’s contract signing with IAG as our launch customer has reinforced once again how Inmarsat’s aviation strategy is coming together,” said Leo Mondale, president of aviation at Inmarsat.
