In Brief: United Unveils Plans For $573M Overhaul of LAX Terminals

United Airlines announced Wednesday it plans to revamp its terminals at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) with a price tag of $573 million. The renovations, which are slated to be finished by December 2017, include a new ticketing lobby, a revamped United Club lounge and a makeover of the airline’s gate-waiting areas.

The overhaul is part of a $7 billion effort to improve all nine terminals at LAX. It’s a process that Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti says will make LAX a “world-class airport befitting a city that is the global capital of creativity.”
