In Brief: “Suspicious Device” Diverts British Airways Flight

A bomb threat forced British Airways Flight 274, a Boeing 747-400 carrying around 300 passengers, to make an emergency landing in Montreal early Wednesday morning. The flight was en route from Las Vegas to London when a “suspicious device” was found onboard.

A SWAT team and canine unit met BA274 when it landed safely at Montreal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport (YUL). Passengers were evacuated onto buses at and no injuries have been reported. A search of the aircraft, passengers and luggage revealed no actual threat onboard.

“We are looking after the customers and will provide hotel rooms for them and will rebook them to other flights as soon as we can,” said an airline representative.

So, what was the suspicious device? Was it a mistake? I guess it is news to print something like this, but it has little value other than to show that a lot of people were greatly inconvenienced for no real reason. Journalism today is so poor that one wonders why anyone reads the garbage. This goes for me as well.
