In Brief: Smuggling Weed in Your Luggage? Maybe Don’t Hide It in Marijuana-Themed Wrappers
Gregory Murphy, 49, heard his name called over the loudspeaker at Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) last week, and based on the contents of his luggage, it seems safe to assume that it FREAKED HIM OUT.
TSA agents discovered “artfully concealed” (as spokeswoman Lisa Farbstein described it) marijuana wrapped in seven Mary Jane candy wrappers contained inside a small plastic bag in Murphy’s checked luggage. Another plastic bag held his Zig-Zag rolling papers.
Murphy will face charges of possession of marijuana under 50 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bummer, dude.
The TSA, trying hard to be a cool mom, tweeted:

If he was smuggling it wasn't the TSA. If he was going through security is wasn't smuggling. Who writes these things??
