Six passengers received lifetime bans from Monarch Airlines following their intoxicated shenanigans on a recent flight to Turkey. Pilots of Flight 908 elected to divert the Boeing 737 to Sofia Airport (SOF) after the rowdy passengers began touching female flight attendants and smoking in the lavatories, all while drinking alcohol they’d brought onboard with them at Birmingham Airport (BHX).
The unruly travelers were apprehended by police upon landing in the Bulgarian capital. The flight resumed its journey to Dalaman Airport (DLM) after a two hour delay.
