In Brief: Sinkhole Discovered at DFW Leads to Flight Disruptions

Passengers at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) encountered multiple flight disruptions Tuesday after a sinkhole appeared near one of the airport’s major runways.

A tweet from the airport’s Twitter account reported, “The sinkhole is not located on the runway or taxiway, but in [a] safe area.” However, another tweet specified that the runway, 18L, will be closed until the sinkhole has been properly repaired. Flights scheduled to utilize the runway have been rerouted to prevent further cancellations and delays.
