In Brief: Lufthansa Aircraft Nearly Collides With Drone at Warsaw Airport

Authorities are investigating a close call between an unmanned drone and a Lufthansa aircraft at Warsaw Chopin Airport (WAW). The Polish Air Navigation Services Agency (PANSA) said the drone came within 330 feet of Lufthansa Flight 1614, an Embraer 195 en route from Munich with 108 passengers onboard, as it approached WAW.

The aircraft landed safely and no injuries were reported. Although police and military helicopters searched the area following the incident, authorities were unable to locate the drone or its operator.
