In Brief: IHG Announces Changes to Reward Night Point Requirements at These 450 Hotels

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) recently announced several changes to its Rewards Club loyalty program, including enhanced personalization capabilities and a new membership tier level. In addition to these changes, IHG is also modifying points requirements for Reward Nights.

Effective May 1, 450 of IHG’s 4,840 properties will be affected. Of the hotels with altered requirements, 300 will cost between 5,000 to 10,000 points more and 150 will be lowered by 5,000 points. Properties with increased redemptions include the InterContinental Hong Kong (from 45,000 to 50,000) and InterContinental Amstel Amsterdam (from 40,000 to 50,000). Properties decreasing include Holiday Inn London-Heathrow and Holiday Inn Abu Dhabi, both from 20,000 points to 15,000.

All Reward Night reservations booked prior to May 1 will adhere to the current point requirements.
