In Brief: Former BA Pilot Jailed, Committed Child Sex Crimes During Stopovers

A former British Airways pilot who committed sex crimes against children during stopovers has been sentenced to 12 years and six months in prison. According to authorities, ex-pilot Bartle Frere, 51, posed a “significant risk to young boys” and his crimes dated back to 2001.

Frere, convicted of 16 sex offenses, was arrested at London Heathrow Airport (LHR) in 2013. Following Wednesday’s sentencing, police thanked British Airways for its cooperation.
