The FAA is investigating an incident involving a Delta Air Lines flight and a Southwest Airlines flight at Midway International Airport (MDW). The incident  occurred Tuesday evening when Southwest Flight 3828 to Tulsa was cleared for takeoff and Delta Flight 1328 to Atlanta began to roll forward, apparently without proper clearance from air-traffic control.

According to the FAA, both aircraft — Delta’s Boeing 717-200 and Southwest’s Boeing 737-700 — were ordered to abort takeoff and stopped about 2,000 feet short of the runway intersection. The NTSB is expected to join in the investigation.
