In Brief: Bomb Threat Prompts Evacuation of Two Delta Flights at JFK

A bomb threat resulted in the evacuation of two Delta Air Lines aircraft that shared the same flight number at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) Monday night. The threat came by way of two anonymous phone calls specifying that there was a bomb onboard DL468, which operates a Boeing 757 from San Francisco to New York and a Boeing 777 from New York to Tel Aviv.

The threat was received as the Tel Aviv-bound DL468 was preparing for takeoff and shortly before the DL468 from San Francisco landed. Both flights were evacuated, and investigators used bomb-sniffing dogs, among other safety protocols, to search the planes. No signs of explosives or other dangerous materials were found on either DL468.
