Business travelers may soon find themselves flying another airline to and from Tokyo Haneda Airport (HND). American Airlines is taking over one of the daily routes previously held by Delta, which has determined it can no longer operate its Seattle-HND route daily.

Routes to HND are rare because of trade agreements between the U.S. and Japan that only allow four flights daily. The airports proximity to downtown Tokyo makes it a popular route for business travelers.

Delta will surrender the route on September 30. American will begin operating flights between Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and HND in the fourth quarter.
