In Brief: American Airlines Passenger’s Medical Emergency Results in Death

American Airlines flight 700 en route to Frankfurt, Germany, was forced to land in Newfoundland Wednesday after a passenger suffered a medical emergency. An airline spokesperson said although the Royal Canadian Mounted Police met the flight upon landing to assist the passenger, the individual later died.

The passenger’s identity has not yet been released, but reports claim a heart attack is to blame for the cause of death. Other flyers onboard have been offered hotel rooms and will be accommodated with another flight to Frankfurt, according to the airline.

If "reports claim a heart attack is to blame for the cause of death," then how does landing at Newfoundland either cause or contribute the unfortunate incident?

What a misleading headline.
