Hyatt and American Team Up to Give Elmhurst Hospital’s Entire Staff Free Flights and Stays

Hyatt and American Team Up to Give Elmhurst Hospital’s Entire Staff Free Flights and Stays
FlyerTalk

Hyatt and American are giving back to doctors, nurses, and other health professionals fighting the coronavirus on the front lines with free hotel stays and flights. This offer will extend to more than 4,000 medical workers from NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst.

The Flights

American Airlines will be providing each member of the staff with a free round-trip flight that can be redeemed later in the year. Destinations include the United States and the Caribbean islands. While traveling, they will be categorized as “special guests” who will receive “priority airfare.”

The Stays

Hyatt Hotels will provide three-night stays from at properties in vacation destinations from “the available options.” Once there, they will “be able to unwind with wellbeing experiences, world-class food and beverage menus, outdoor activities and more” while staying at the Hyatt.

How You Can Help

Both Hyatt and American Airlines are allowing their loyalty program members to donate their points or miles as a thank-you gift to medical personnel. To donate, head to their respective sites: hyatt.com/thankyou and aa.com.

The CEO of the Elmhurst hospital facility, Israel Rocha, says that the medical staff there “really appreciate the outpouring of support from two of America’s major companies, and we look forward to taking advantage of these well-earned vacations in the near future.” Hyatt CEO Mark Hoplamazian remarked, “we look forward to making their stays special when they are able to take a hard-earned break.”

Ooooh, the heath care workers should be appreciative (and very hesitant) of these two substandard companies’ desperately searching for positive publicity. Who in God’s good graces would EVER avail themselves of a free opportunity to sit in the middle seat and sleep in a dirty room? Nice try, NO ONE should buy this crap.

Nice idea, but why not include the janitorial and food services staff who also risked their lives every day and can’t afford a vacation? The doctors can…Thank you

I’m with @Fontaine on this one. And the janitorial/food service staff weren’t making bad decisions which actually caused preventable deaths at Elmhurst.
