“Hourly Hotel” Opens at London Heathrow Airport

Flyers going through London Heathrow Airport can now rent a hotel room for a short nap between flights. Plaza Premium Group opened Aerotel at the airport’s Terminal 3, offering hourly bookings for travelers who need a short stay between flights.

Finding a place to stay for a short trip delay is difficult for many flyers. However, one hotel group is trying to help flyers at London Heathrow Airport get a reasonable rest without being forced to pay for a whole night’s stay. Hospitality company Plaza Premium Group opened the Aerotel hotel at the airport’s Terminal 3, offering flexible booking options for travelers who don’t need a full night.

Travelers who have an overnight connection or are stuck at the airport can now book a room for less than a full night. Flyers can reserve an available room for as few as 6 hours, or up to a full day, depending on their needs. Bookings start around $61 for a 6-hour stay.

“Unlike conventional hotels charging daily rates, we tailor room rates based on blocks of hours to create convenience, comfort, and value right at the terminal,” Plaza Premium Group chief executive Song Hoi-see said in a press release. “We are glad to see the opening of Aerotel London Heathrow serving early arrival travelers to rejuvenate.”

Three room types are available among the 82 total rooms for travelers who wish to stay at the hotel, each featuring a private shower. The Solo Plus room sleeps one flyer comfortably; the Double Plus room for two guests and a family room featuring two beds for up to four guests. All bookings come with complimentary wi-fi and a wake-up call service, so flyers do not miss their connection.

To celebrate the mini-hotel opening, the company is offering 30% off bookings of 9 hours or more through the end of 2019, with terms and conditions applying. Rooms can be booked online at myaerotel.com.

The Aerotel opening is the first for the company in Europe. The company operates nine other locations in China, South America, the Pacific Rim, and the Middle East.

It's not the first at LHR. Aerotel has a 6-hour mininum stay; the Yotel has a 4-hour minimum.
