High Score: TSA Confiscates Record 81 Guns in One Week

Between March 13 and 19, the Transportation Security Administration seized a record 81 firearms at security checkpoints. Of the total 81 firearms, 74 were loaded, and 26 had a bullet in the chamber, ready to fire.

“In addition to all of the other prohibited items we find weekly in carry-on bags, our officers also regularly find firearm components, realistic replica firearms, bb and pellet guns, air soft guns, brass knuckles, ammunition, batons, stun guns, small pocketknives and many other prohibited items too numerous to note,” read a report posted to the TSA blog.
