Help Richard Branson Name His Beer

Richard Branson needs your help naming a new product that’s getting released with the launch of his new cruise company, Virgin Voyages: a beer that marries together both American and English traditions into an English Pale Ale and will be served onboard all the cruises as the company’s signature beer.

Have you booked a cruise on Virgin Voyages yet? If not, and you’re a beer aficionado, you may want to secure a spot on one of the new cruise company’s voyages. Owner Richard Branson just announced that the cruise line will carry a signature beer on each sailing, called…well, we don’t know yet.

That’s where you come in. Branson is asking for the public’s help in naming his new beer. It’s (of course) an English Pale Ale, but marries together American and English traditions by using American malt and hops and British yeast.

“Virgin Voyages always loves a challenge and so we asked ourselves, ‘How can we create the most perfect beer to be enjoyed in the midday sun?’” Charles Steadman, Senior Manager of Beverage Development for Virgin Voyages, said in a statement reported by Travel + Leisure. “We have created the perfect pale ale that is both thirst quenching and refreshingly delicious, but of course, created with a Virgin twist, as we have given our pale beer a little kiss of scarlet red. And who better to partner with on this exciting endeavor than Wynwood Brewing Company, based in Scarlet Lady’s home port of Miami.”

What do you think the beer should be called? Let the Virgin team know on Instagram at @VirginVoyages.

I vote Virgin’s beer should be branded Birgin!
