Heathrow Adds Poetry Program for Easter
Joan and Kriyena unveil Heathrows poetry points to celebrate the launch of the airports Passport to Poetry initiative this Easter, with support from literary favourites Michael Rosen, Danny Wallace, MG Leonard and performance poet Laura Dockrill.
Heathrow Airport (LHR) expects a record 850,000 passengers between Good Friday and Easter Sunday, and in preparation of the stressed-out crowds, the airport has partnered with a handful of poets and children’s authors for a free poetry-infused program. “Poetry Points” will be spread throughout the airport, and travelers will be able to listen to several newly commissioned, travel-centric poems as they wait to board their holiday flights. There will be an Easter poem contest for children ages 16 and under as well as poetry workshops for in terminals available to travelers of all ages.
