Hawaiian Changes Game Plan, Will Purchase 10 Dreamliners
On Tuesday, Hawaiian Airlines confirmed that rather than follow its original plan of purchasing a fleet of Airbus aircraft, it will instead purchase ten Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners. These aircraft will be intended for the airline’s long-haul routes between Asia and North America.
“The Dreamliner combines excellent comfort for our guests with fantastic operational performance and will allow us to continue modernizing our fleet into the next decade,” said Peter Ingram, President and CEO of Hawaiian Airlines. “It has more seating capacity than Hawaiian’s current wide-body fleet, which will allow us to further build upon our successful growth in Asia.”

Boeing must be cutting some crazy deals to be getting these recent orders. Comfort will depend on how the seat width & pitch Hawaiian selects for this product. 787 can be comfortable or a little bit of torture.
Very good move. 787 outclasses any of the current Airbus competition. The revised air quality and lighting makes travel much less tiring and the economy and reduced fuel burn helps the wallet and the economy.
