Have You Met the Criteria to Join EasyJet’s Loyalty Program?

Aimed exclusively at the carrier’s returning customers, easyJet’s new loyalty scheme offers a range of benefits, including a price promise as well as fee-free flight and name changes.

Earlier this week, British low-cost carrier easyJet announced the debut of Flight Club, its new loyalty scheme.

The airline has been testing the program with more than 15,000 of its passengers over the last year and a half, but the scheme will officially be rolled out across the carrier’s European routes from early 2016.

However, Flight Club is different to conventional airline loyalty schemes in that it will target exclusively the carrier’s returning customers. More specifically, those who have flown or booked 20 flights or more and/or made a minimum spend over a 12-month period will be invited to take part in the program.

“EasyJet’s Flight Club will reward our most loyal, frequent flyers – most of whom will fly with us more than 20 times a year. It isn’t like a traditional airline reward program because our customers have told us that those schemes can be a source of frustration. This is a loyalty scheme with a difference because it gives passengers benefits they really value and can access immediately,” explained CEO Carolyn McCall in a statement.

She added that the program “is also simpler to run which means that we can continue to keep our costs low — which will enable us to keep our fares low.”

The program’s benefits include free name changes, fee-free flight changes, previews of new routes and special offers as well as a dedicated customer service center. It will also feature a price promise and the airline has declared that if “passengers find the same flight on easyjet.com at a lower price, we’ll give them the price difference towards their next flight.”

Flight Club will run in tandem with the carrier’s existing easyJet Plus program, which allows travelers priority boarding and seat allocation privileges as well as access to a dedicated bag drop.

More details on Flight Club will be revealed nearer to the program’s official launch.

First rule of Flight Club - don't talk about Flight Club.
