This Is The Worst Thing That Ever Happened On A Plane

Author Alafair Burke posted a video clip – which was originally captured by her friend – of an unnamed passenger using his toe to swipe through his in-flight entertainment screen. The Twitter post received thousands of user comments, with many taking the time to voice their disgust at the incident.

A clip of an unidentified passenger using his bare feet to swipe through his in-flight entertainment options has gone viral, eliciting responses of disgust and dismay from tens of thousands of social media users, The Mirror reports.

The clip was shared on Twitter by author Alafair Burke, with the footage itself having been captured by one of her friends on a recent flight. “My friend who doesn’t have Twitter sent this from her flight. It belongs on Twitter,” she wrote in her original post.

In the clip, the man can clearly be seen to be using his toe to move through his TV screen. The post generated thousands of comments, with one user simply describing the incident as “gross” while another commented, “This is the most disturbing thing I’ve seen on Twitter.

This is exactly why Naomi Campbell wipes down everything she touches on a plane. I’m following her advice ‘cuz these people are nasty,” said one user. Another member of the public felt strongly enough about the incident to involve the law, saying, “I won’t rest until this person is captured by Interpol.”

I’m a bit OCD about these things, that’s why I always bring a pack of Lysol or Clorox wipes. I wipe down plane seats, tables, arms and screens. That also goes for rental cars and hotel rooms, etc. Who knows what’s on those surfaces. Gross me out!

This is not that big a deal. I would bet that the average hand has more germs than the average bare foot. It may violate social norms, but it is definitely not the worst thing that has happened on a plane.

I’d say that the worst thing that every happened on a plane was when a bomb blew up Pan Am flight 100 over Lockerbie Scotland. Or when a Russian Missile downed Korean Air flight 103. Those are some things that are objectively worse, and cannot be erased by the use of a simple antiseptic wipe.

Yes, this is the worst. Even tops the lady that got sucked out of the window on a Southwest flight.

    Drama queen much?

People are trash. Like the Internet, flying was better before it was democratized.

After all these (too many) horrified posts about people with bare feet in planes it seems to me that many Americans have a cultural problem with bare feet.
As J S commented, some people bare feet are cleaner than many dirty hands (how many people in the world don’t wash their hands after using the toilet ?) and some people bare feet are cleaner than other people’s covered with socks feet… So why always blaming bare feet ? I wonder how can you stand going to the swimming pool with so many people with their bare feet in the locker room or around the pool ??…

So when a Garuda pilot assassinated a human rights activist with the blessings of the airline’s CEO, that wasn’t exactly nice. But of course that’s nothing compared to someone using his feet on a touchscreen.
