Gol Airlines: Pay More for No Middle Seat
Gol Linhans Aereas Inteligentes has introduced a new feature for nonstop flights from Brazil to the United States: You can now pay in order to put a middle seat in between you and your seatmate aboard booked flights.
The deal is available for flights in premium economy class, and the flights between the two countries frequently last eight hours. The seats would remain separated by a small table that remains in the middle seat during the flight.

I'd pay gladly!
Isn’t the same seats but with the middle on blocked off basically what “business class” on intra-European flights is?
In Europe, they would call that busimess class (except that the seats would be normal Economy rather than Premium Economy).
Ingenious revenue stream. Think about it - aisle and window passenger don't know each other. Both pay to keep middle seat empty.
