Glasgow Airport Reports Record Number of Passengers

Nearly 830,000 passengers passed through Glasgow Airport (GLA) in May, showing a 5.5% increase from same period last year. A spokesperson for the airport said that it had attracted over nine million passengers in total over a 12-month period for the first time in its 50-year history, citing a boost in domestic services by new Flybe services to Newquay, Cardiff and Exeter. The spokesperson added that increased service to European destinations such as Berlin, Milan, Bucharest and Budapest was a heavy factor in increasing the number of international passengers.
