German Gov’t Collects Passenger Information at Airports

In a move that has alarmed privacy advocates, the German government authorized the collection of a wide variety of international passenger data at airports as of May 25, as well as provisions authorizing wide latitude in analyzing and distributing this data with other nations. The Fluggastdatenspeicherung, as it’s called, will not apply to domestic German flight passengers.
