German FA Union Plans Eurowings Strike

The Independent Flight Attendants’ Organization (UFO) has confirmed that it plans to enact a strike at Eurowings, Lufthansa’s budget airline, over the course of the next two weeks. The union has been locked in disputes with Lufthansa over wages, pensions and work conditions, and the collective action by the UFO is in response to Eurowings’ decision to withdraw a proposal to go to arbitration with the union.

Lufthansa has attempted to cut costs in recent years by expanding its Eurowings offshoot as it contends with competition from budget carriers. UFO official Nicoley Baublies has confirmed that the strikes could occur at any point in the next two weeks and declined to specify dates and times.
