German Airports Prepare For Strikes

Airport employees across Germany, including ground service personnel and the fire brigade, have been encouraged by Verdi, a large trade union, to begin striking between the opening and closing of their shifts on Wednesday. A large-scale demonstration is planned for Wednesday morning in Frankfurt to encourage employers to enact pay raises in the next round of negotiations with union workers. Passengers should expect delays and closures until the end of the day.
