Fuel Leak From Aircraft Engine During Takeoff Caught on Camera

A recent Flybe flight headed Birmingham for was forced to abort its takeoff at Aberdeen Airport (ABZ)  after a “technical fault” with the aircraft led to a fuel leak that was captured on camera by one passenger.

“On initial startup, the engines failed to respond alerting the captain to a fail-safe mechanism being activated due to a possible technical fault with the aircraft [a Bombardier Dash 8].” The 59 flyers onboard were asked to deplane and were placed on the next available flight.
