Frontier Passengers Stuck on PHL Runway
More than 150 passengers were trapped on their Frontier flight for hours at Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) Monday because of an alleged mechanical issue. The aircraft’s auxiliary power unit had reportedly malfunctioned, leaving the flyers with no heat or air conditioning. After waiting on the jet for almost three hours, the passengers were taxied back to the gate and the flight to Tampa, Florida, was canceled.

the stupidity in these situations are astounding....get the passengers back to the terminal quickly and quit treating them like cattle.
Confused here. The title said they were stuck on the runway. But the article doesn't mention where they were, just somewhere on the airport. For some reason the APU failed, leaving them without electrical power or A/C (but the APU isn't necessary when the engines are running, so why were the engines off?). Then it says they were waiting on the plane for three hours, but...again, why? Why were they somewhere away from the gate, without engines running and with a failed APU. And why were they on the tarmac for three hours?
