Frontier Miles Extends Status Match to Hotel Status

In time for holiday travel, flyers with elite status at 15 different hotels can use it to earn a matching loyalty tier with Frontier Airlines.

Status matching with Frontier Airlines is no longer just for those with airline elite membership.

In time for the holiday season, the Colorado-based airline announced they are now letting flyers earn Frontier Miles status based on their hotel program elite level.

Status Matching Available from 15 Hotel Programs, Including Marriott, Hyatt and Hilton

Under the expanded Frontier Miles program, flyers who hold an elite membership tier with one of 15 different hotel chains can use it to leverage one of three elite tiers from Frontier Miles. The qualifying programs range from major hoteliers including Best Western Rewards, Hilton Honors, World of Hyatt and Marriott Bonvoy, to smaller programs including those from Omni Hotels and Resorts, Sonesta and The Leading Hotels of the World.

In most programs, top tier status will result in a match to Frontier’s Elite 100k status. With the highest level available, travelers can get family pooling of points, shared family status, guaranteed family seating, access to stretch seating and one free checked bag. Travelers status matching from the top tiers of Omni, Sonesta and Leading Hotels of the World can only match to the Elite 50k status, which does not offer shared family status or a free checked bag. All status matches are subject to verifying the status of the flyer’s hotel status.

For those planning holiday travel, status matching now will guarantee their elite benefits with Frontier Miles through December 31, 2022. To retain status afterwards, flyers must meet the travel requirements for each tier. Flyers can only apply for one status match unless they are given a targeted offer from the airline.

Status matches with Frontier are not free. In order to apply, flyers must pay a $49 fee. If the match is not successful, the airline will refund the cost of the fee. To apply for the status match, visit the Frontier website www.FrontierStatusMatch.com.

Status Match Expansion Part of New Loyalty Program

The expansion of the status match program is the latest move to encourage flyers to try out the low-cost carrier. The first status match offer was extended in November 2020, only open to those who had current status with one of the major airlines operating U.S. flights.
