Frontier Expands International Routes from Las Vegas and Miami

Frontier Airlines continues to expand their international footprint, with hopes that travelers will begin flying as the COVID-19 vaccine is distributed. Out of Las Vegas, the airline will add routes to six new cities, including Cabo San Lucas and Puerto Vallarta.
After an aggressive campaign to target elite flyers from other carriers, Frontier Airlines is expanding their international footprint even further. The airline announced new service to three Mexican cities from Las Vegas McCarren International Airport (LAS) and Miami International Airport (MIA).
Vegas to Receive Service to Puerto Vallarta and Cabo San Lucas, Miami Expands to Cancun

All of the new routes will debut throughout 2021, and will add new air connectivity through the two destination airports. Frontier will add two routes weekly from Las Vegas to Licenciado Gustavo Díaz Ordaz International Airport, Puerto Vallarta (PVR) starting March 25, 2021, and Los Cabos International Airport (SJD) starting on Mar. 26, 2021.
At Miami International Airport, Frontier will add an additional route to Cancun International Airport (CUN). Starting Mar. 11, 2021, the carrier will offer fly four times per week from Southern Florida to the Mexican resort city.
Las Vegas will also receive four additional routes to and from smaller population centers. Twice-weekly service between LAS and El Paso International Airport (ELP) and Little Rock Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport (LIT) will begin on Mar. 11, 2021. On Mar. 12, 2021, twice-weekly service will start between LAS and Oklahoma City Will Rogers World Airport (OKC) and Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport (ICT).
The new service is in addition to their previously announced international expansion through Miami. By April 13, 2021, Frontier will offer those flying through the Florida hub access to three additional Caribbean destinations, including Guatemala City, San Salvador and Santo Domingo.
Expansion Follows Status Match Campaign for Elite Flyers
The major route expansion for Frontier comes off the heels of their latest moves to try and attract flyers with elite status at other U.S.-based carriers. In November, the airline announced a $49 status match offer, which would grant either Silver or Gold status in the Frontier Miles program to those with similar standing at another airline.
