FlyerTalk Gets an Alaska Airlines Friends and Family Discount Code

FlyerTalk Gets an Alaska Airlines Friends and Family Discount Code
Joe Cortez

FlyerTalkers who are considering taking an Alaska Airlines flight by Aug. 31, 2021 now have an easy way to get 30 percent off their base fare. Use the FlyerTalk code “QUEENJEAN” at checkout, provided by a forum member who works inside Alaska Airlines.

Outside of an upgrade, there’s arguably nothing FlyerTalkers love more than a discount on airfare. Thanks to the generosity of a FlyerTalk forum member who works inside Alaska Airlines, we now have our own “Friends and Family” discount code to use. Using the code “QUEENJEAN” when booking Alaska flights through Dec. 19, 2020 will result in a 30 percent discount on the base fare.

30 Percent Friends and Family Discount Code Valid for Most Alaska Flights

According to the terms and conditions of the promotion, the discount code is valid for a 30 percent discount on base fares. Travel must be booked by 11:59 PM Pacific time on Dec. 19, 2020, and is valid for travel between Jan. 5 and Aug. 31, 2021.

The code is good on flights operated by Alaska Airlines, and on those on behalf of the Seattle-based carrier by Horizon Air and SkyWest. Flyers cannot use the discount code on codeshare flights aboard Alaska partners. Additionally, the discount code is not applicable to Mileage Plan award reservations, vacation packages, and many “privately filled fares.”

Even though the discount does not apply to awards, flyers can earn Mileage Plan miles on the flights. Additionally, elite flyers can take advantage of upgrades, where available.

While flyers can take the discount on nearly everywhere Alaska flies, one airport is excluded. The discount is not valid for flights to Prudhoe Bay Deadhorse Airport (SCC), located on Alaska’s northern coast. The area itself isn’t quite a tourist destination, as it is primarily occupied by oil companies.

Discount Marks Latest Move to Attract Flyers Before Year Ends

While this discount code for FlyerTalkers is possibly the airline’s last holiday gift for the year, Mileage Plan collectors have plenty to look forward to in 2021. With Oneworld membership becoming official on Mar. 31, 2021, the carrier already announced how elite levels translate within in the global alliance, as well as some benefits MVPs will get when flying aboard American Airlines.

I’m sure it’ll kill all the corona. Nothing to worry about.

That’s awesome! I am gold on American, wonder how I can work this with my current loyalty… since they’re some sort of half partners. Also, headline in the middle of the article says Southwest, typo?

I believe there may either be an editing error. Your sub-headline says the discount code is good for most Southwest flights. Unless the code works for both Alaska and Southwest….
