Flyer Given Year of Probation for Infamous Delta Bathroom Tantrum

Late last year, a couple made headlines after defiantly being led from a Delta Airlines flight in handcuffs. This week, the pair put the incident behind them without serious legal repercussions.

Delta Airlines passenger Anna Koosmann learned last week that she would avoid jail and instead be sentenced to serve a year of probation, pay a fine and perform community service for her part in disrupting a December 28th Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)-bound Delta Airlines flight that was forced to return to Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport (MSP) because of her behavior. The 36-year-old avoided more serious consequences after pleading guilty to a single misdemeanor count of “obstructing the legal process.”

Koosmann and her then boyfriend Blake Adam Fleisig became viral sensations after video emerged of the ranting couple being hauled from the Delta Airlines flight in handcuffs by police. The ugly incident reportedly kicked off after Koosmann became incensed that a flight attendant would not let her use the lavatory until the plane reached a safe cruising altitude. Fleisig soon took his girlfriend’s side, adding even more fuel to the fire.

Police say the pair was warned repeatedly that if they continued to ignore instructions from crew members, then the captain would be forced to turn the plane around and return to MSP. Eventually, this is exactly what occurred.

According to the Saint Paul Pioneer even though Fleisig was arrested along with his girlfriend, he was ticketed and released, while Koosmann was taken into custody. The 35-year-old Fleisig was apparently never criminally charged in connection with the incident. Video of the couple being removed from the flight rocketed to social media notoriety, in part, because of footage that appears to show Fleisig taking a swing at (but not connecting with) a fellow passenger.

This is precisely why this will keep on happening because serious consequences are not administered. Why do 200+ other passengers have to have their trip/plans interrupted and nerves on edge watching this CRIMINAL behavior ?
