Flight Deal: Open Jaw TAP Business Class Newark to Europe for Under $2,000

Flyers looking for a business class deal to Europe may have found one great opportunity aboard very new aircraft. FlyerTalkers found a premium flight deal aboard TAP Air Portugal, flying business class aboard the new A321neoLR or A330neo for around $1,800 via two one-way tickets.

If you have easy access to Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), you may have an opportunity to visit Europe in the premium cabin for the cheap. FlyerTalker styleflyer found several routes available aboard TAP Air Portugal through Newark for under $1,450.

The one-way ticket prices vary based on distance. Flights to London or Madrid in TAP Air Portugal business class were found under $1,250, while flights to Prague and Vienna priced up to $1,420. At the time of writing, premium fares could still be found on Skyscanner and Google Flights.

While some fares are standard, the deals can be found in the wide availability. On the discovery, styleflyer notes: “Frankfurt and Madrid were never that cheap one-way. And TAP is flying now with their new A321neoLR, which wasn’t the case weeks ago.”

According to a trip report by noted blogger One Mile At A Time, the TAP Air Portugal Airbus A321neoLR features a staggered business class cabin, similar to the JetBlue Mint product. Both the A321neoLR and A330 business class features lay flat seats with plenty of storage, large in-flight entertainment system, and a robust menu featuring food and wine offerings from Portugal.

Because the deal features one-way ticketing, there’s plenty of opportunities to create a custom European trip via “open jaw” booking. That is: flyers can book their departing flight from Newark into one city while booking a return flight into Newark from another seat. The possibilities remain open for savvy and frugal flyers.
