Flight Attendants Hate Serving You This Drink
According to several flight attendants that were interviewed by These Golden Wings, the most difficult drink order for flight attendants to fulfill is Diet Coke due to the amount of fizz produced by pouring the soft drink at high altitudes.
“I know this seems like a minor detail, but at my airline we offer a full inflight service including hot towels, meals, bar, tea/coffee and more on flights over 3 hours […] Pouring Diet Coke is one of the biggest slow downs in the bar service and on the shorter flights those precious seconds count!” said one flight attendant.

This is a problem on the ground too. Diet Coke is really hard to pour. But yes, I always get full cans of soft drinks on a flight, because I don't live in the US or Europe!
Can we please not use these clickbait-y titles? A headline is supposed to give concise information. You're one step away from "Flight attendants HATE serving you these three drinks... #2 will SHOCK you".
The best solution is to pour the Diet Coke into the cup first, then put in the ice. The bubbles are much less. I have only seen a couple of flight attendants do this, but it works really well. I think the reason it is not more common is because of the potential splashing creating a mess when you drop the ice in the soda.
The FAs should just give pax the full, unopened can. Problem solved.
