Five Hotels With Over-the-Top Stays to Celebrate the Royal Wedding

Royal weddings are a huge deal for not only the United Kingdom residents. The whole world will watch the nuptials of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle at Windsor Castle in England this weekend.

Didn’t get invited to the wedding? Believe it or not, it’s possible to experience royal treatment as a peasant. Several hotels worldwide are offering wedding-themed packages for guests who have a ton of hotel rewards points burning holes in their pockets (and a few for those who don’t).

With “Film and Fondue” at The Drake Hotel

The Drake Hotel in Chicago is offering a number of kingly amenities, including a “Film and Fondue” night. Every Monday, guests can have fondue and watch royal-themed movies, such as “Elizabeth: The Golden Age” and “Victoria and Abdul.”

On May 19, the Drake will hold a special luncheon where guests can enjoy the same meal that Princess Diana ate during her stay in 1996.

As a Hilton Honors member, you can book a night at The Drake for 70,000 points this weekend. Rooms are still available.

Check out this FlyerTalk forum to learn more about earning Hilton Honors points.

At A Royal Wedding Viewing Party in the Cayman Islands

The Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman is hosting a Royal Wedding Viewing Party Brunch on May 19 at 12 p.m. at their famous Seven restaurant. Guests are invited to wear their formal attire and celebrate the royal holy matrimony on the Seven Mile Beach with a glass of champagne to toast the happy couple.

Award nights are available and start at 70,000 reward points per night for a garden-view room and 90,000 points for an oceanfront room. You also can go all out and book a harbor suite for 110,000 points per night.

Get “The Royal Treatment” at Blue Waters Resort & Spa

In 2016, Prince Harry went to Antigua and Barbuda to celebrate the country’s 35th anniversary of being independent from the U.K. and stayed at the all-inclusive Blue Waters Resort & Spa.

The Blue Waters Hotel on St. John’s Island in Antigua is offering a royal package for guests who want to be treated like kings and queens. The package includes a VIP fast track upon arrival at the airport, luxury car transfers to the Cove Suites & Penthouses, a bottle of champagne, designer chocolates and signature massages, among other amenities including a Royal Wedding Viewing Party Brunch.

Unfortunately, the Blue Waters Hotel is not a chain and cannot be booked with traditional points, but it’s possible to cover some of the cost with fixed-value points such as the Arrival miles or Capital One Venture miles at a rate of 1 cent per point.

Go to A Royal Wedding Brunch at The Palm

Atlantis The Palm in Dubai, a luxury hotel in the United Arab Emirates, is hosting a royal wedding brunch at the Gordon Ramsay’s Bread Street Kitchen on May 19 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Guests can enjoy specialty cocktails and a wedding cake for dessert, and the best-dressed couple will win a special prize.

Again, it’s not possible to use chain points for a stay at this hotel, but you can redeem fixed-value points or hotel points elsewhere and attend the brunch at the Atlantis.

“Shag Like A Royal” at the MOXY NYC Times Square

MOXY, a boutique hotel in Manhattan’s midtown, is offering a “Shag Like a Royal” package to its guests for stays between May 15 and May 19. The package includes novelties such as a British slang dictionary, a travel-sized bottle of gin and a Union Jack condom.

Forty thousand Marriott Rewards points can be used to book a night at the MOXY Times Square, but the packages start at $260.
