Family Claims Passing Plane Dumped Human Waste on Sweet 16 Party

A Pennsylvania family says their daughter’s sixteenth birthday celebration was ruined when feces rained from the sky.

Joe Cambray, a resident of Levittown, Pa., was determined not to let the weather forecast ruin stepdaughter Jacinda’s big day. Hours before the celebration, Cambray purchased a canopy-style tent to protect the roughly 40 guests attending the sweet 16 party.

The rain showers held off and party-goers were able to enjoy the backyard pool and horseshoe pit at the family’s home in the suburb near Philadelphia International Airport (PHL). It turns out, however, family and friends needed the brand new canopy to shelter them from a completely unexpected sort of storm.

Philadelphia affiliate Fox 29 News reports that what happened next brought an unceremonious and disturbing end to Jacinda’s special day.

“Out of nowhere, from the sky, comes a bunch of feces, lands on her,” Cambray told FOX 29. “We just got done with cake. Thank God. We took the cake back in, because within two minutes, something fell from the sky. It was brown, it was everywhere, it got on everything.”

Jacinda’s aunt quickly accessed a flight tracker app on her phone and learned that five commercial planes were flying overhead in the moments before the incident.

The family filed a complaint with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) which has launched an investigation into the incident. The FAA noted that a serious error would have had to occur if an aircraft is to blame, telling reporters that all airplanes are required to dispose of waste while on the ground. The lavatory waste is held securely in storage tanks when planes are in flight.

The FAA recently dismissed the notion that an aircraft was responsible for an April incident, also in Pennsylvania, in which a neighborhood was littered with toilet paper and other bathroom waste that fell from the sky.
