Fake Uber Driver at DIA Attempts to Grab Rider’s Phone

Fake Uber Driver at DIA Attempts to Grab Rider’s Phone
Ryan Boyd

According to actual Uber driver Richard Rael, a passenger arranging a ride out of Denver International Airport (DIA) on Saturday was picked up by a fake Uber driver who allegedly attempted to snatch the confused passenger’s phone out of their hand while on the phone with Rael.

“He didn’t ask for the driver’s name. Probably didn’t look at the app. He’s probably in a rush — I need to get to my hotel. I’m tired I want to get there, Uber is right there,” said Rael of the passenger, who managed to get out of the car and was waiting for Rael on the side of the road after the fake driver drove away.
